Between Alba and Acqui Terme
Situation
This small hotel occupies a quiet location in the centre of a picturesque hilltop village in Piedmont's Langhe region. The antique solid-stone building has a U-shape that encloses a romantic courtyard garden with magnificent views over the distant hills.
The beautiful Roman spa town of Acqui Terme, with its excellent shopping facilities, hotels, bars, restaurants, markets and spa facilities, can be reached by car within 20 minutes, while in the direction of Alessandria the motorway / freeway / autostrada can be reached in 25 minutes. The international airports of Milan, Turin and Genoa can all be reached within 90 minutes, and the beaches of the Italian Riviera are only a 45 minute drive away.
The House
The well-maintained house includes an underground cellar/cantina, a licenced restaurant seating 55 guests, a very large multiple-use function room, and the owner's private accommodation. The house is fully-renovated and has central heating, an alarm system, double-glazed custom windows and doors, and a well.
Accommodation
An arched gateway with a wrought iron gate leads from the village road to the courtyard at the heart of the property. To the right, a glass doors leads to the bar, reception area and restaurant. A professional kitchen and two guest bathrooms are located at the back of the restaurant. The guest bedrooms on both the ground first floor are also accessable from the courtyard.
The Guest Bedrooms: In total there are 10 very spacious bedrooms, of which 7 are double, one is single, and 2 are very large multiple-occupancy rooms that could be converted into apartments or suites if desired. Most of the bedrooms have modern en-suite bathrooms, and many have lovely views over the village to the open countryside beyond.
The Function Room: On the first floor, above the restaurant and kitchen, and accessable via both external and internal stairs, there is a very large, light and airy multiple-use function room that overlooks the courtyard.
The Owner's Private Apartment ia situated on the first floor at the far end of the building: it has an open-plan kitchen/living room, one bedroom, one bathroom and a spacious private terrace that overlooks open countryside.
The Courtyard & Garden
The courtyard & garden are well-stocked with mature olive trees, wisteria, roses and an old tree that gives welcome shade. It also has seating for up to 90 people: during the summer it is used for al fresco dining. On a terrace below the courtyard, reached by a few steps, is a small garden with wonderful far-reaching views: it would certainly be possible to install a swimming pool here.

Sporting Facilities
There are a number of golf courses in Southern Piedmont. The nearest, Le Colline near Acqui Terme, can be reached by car in 15 minutes. There is plenty of open countryside nearby for horse riding. The excellent network of small, tarmac-surfaced country roads makes the area very popular with cyclists. Popular Italian ski resorts can be reached within 90 minutes.
