Near Canelli

Situation: This house enjoys a sunny and peaceful location on a quiet street in the center of a picturesque, medieval hilltop village conveniently located between the two lively market towns of Canelli and Nizza Monferrato. The impressive castle behind the house is a landmark visible for miles around: during the summer months classical concerts and art exhibitions are held in its walled gardens. Canelli and Nizza Monferrato - both with good shopping facilities, hotels, restaurants, coffee and wine bars, schools and hospitals - can each be reached by car within ten minutes. Day-to-day shopping facilities can also be found in the lower part of the village, just a two minute drive away. In the direction of Alessandria the motorway/freeway/autostrada can be reached by car in 20 minutes. The international airports of Milan, Turin and Genoa are a little more than an hour's drive away.

The House: The two-storey brick/stone house dates from the mid-18th century and is attached on one side to a neighbouring house. Currently the house accommodates 2 independent units, one on the ground floor and one on the first floor, each with its own front door. However, the house can easily be turned into one family home if desired. The courtyard, accessible by car via a driveway to the side of the property, is shared with the owner of the neigbouring property: there is enough space to park 2 cars. A small plot of land adjacent to the courtyard belongs to the property: it enjoys a southerly aspect with lovely views, and could easily be converted into a romantic patio garden.

Sporting facilities: There are a number of golf courses in Southern Piedmont. The one nearby, Margara near Felizzano, can be reached by car in 30 minutes. South Piedmont is perfect for bike riding: there are numerous small, scenic roads - mostly tarmac-surfaced - connecting the hills and villages. Horse riding is also very popular, and there are good riding facilities in the area. The nearest tennis courts can be found in Asti. The beaches of the Riviera are a one hour drive away.
