Villa Gotta is an absolute treasure tucked between the beautiful hilltop villages of Vignale Monferrato and Fubine in the heart of the Monferrato wine region of Piemonte. This 250 year old villa has recently been restored to luxurious standards retaining traditional Piemontese features blended with a modern touch for the most discerning of visitors. The villa is set over three floors with separate entrances with grand marble staircases at each wing, comprises six double bedrooms, five luxury bathrooms (four en suite) and a spectacular 13 x 8.5 m swimming pool overlooking the villas private five acre forest. The specification throughout is of the highest standards including granite worktops in the kitchen, all modern appliances, tiled flooring throughout and underfloor heating on the ground and first floors. Totally secluded, the villa sits at the top of a hill with spectacular views of Vignale, San Lorenzo and Cuccaro and represents an outstanding restoration, a relaxing and sumptious place to holiday and the perfect place to explore the glorious Piemonte wine region. It is perfect for food lovers, families wishing to spend some quality time together and large groups of friends who wish to enjoy spacious accommodation. With its beautiful rolling hills, the Monferrato region is ideal for walking and cycling and for golfers: the villa is also within a 5-10 minute drive of one of northern Italys most famous championship courses, Golf Magara. The property is within easy driving distance of the five major airports in northern Italy - Genoa, Turin, Milan Malpensa, Milan Linate and Bergamo. ACCOMMODATION Ground Floor: Lounge - The hallway opens to a large family lounge, formerly the stable, with double doors leading to the garden and swimming pool. It has three leather sofas, a flat screen TV with a DVD player, a radio/Cd player with ipod dock, and a glass-fronted wood-burning stove. Features of the lounge include original curved brick ceiling and underfloor heating. The lounge is amply stocked with books and childrens games. The hall also leads to a Luxury shower room with an open plan shower, hand basin, bidet and toilet. Sitting Room - Original restored oak doors lead to a sitting room. This was originally the main living area of the old farmhouse. This acts as a quiet reading room separate from the family room. Open fireplace. Doors lead into the dining room. The open plan kitchen is fully equipped with American style side-by-side fridge freezer, 5 ring gas hob, dishwasher, microwave, double electric oven and kettle. All necessary kitchen utensils, cutlery etc are provided. The kitchen also includes a dining area. Utility room - Washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board, large sink and storage area. Fridge / freezer. All ground floor rooms have underfloor heating. First Floor - West Wing: Master Bedroom Suite - This is a truly spectacular room. This was the original hay loft and still retains the double height ceiling. Because of this, large double height windows had to be manufactured and in their finished form are majestic. There is a king size double bed with matching side cabinets and extensive wardrobe space. There is underfloor heating and the huge windows overlook the swimming pool and courtyard. The ensuite bathroom features sunken bath, large open fully tiled shower, luxury double basins, bidet and toilet. The whole area has underfloor heating. Steps lead down to the balcony which also overlooks the swimming pool. On the landing outside the Master Bedroom Suite is a leisure area with pool table, fitness area with Mat and weights. A hand-made open-plan staircase leads up to : Bedroom 2 - Two single beds in open plan bedroom, hanging area and chest of drawers. Bedroom 2 leads to bedroom 3, so it is ideal for a family with children. Both bedrooms have double balcony doors opening over the swimming pool. First Floor - East Wing: Bedroom 3 - Modern double luxury queen size bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Bathroom En Suite - Family shower room with modern basin set in granite, bidet and low level toilet. Bedroom 4 - Double bed, can be used as two singles, ample hanging space. Second Floor - East Wing: Bedroom 5 - Two single beds can be used also as a large double. Wardrobe and side units. En Suite Shower Room - Luxury shower room with modern basin set in granite, bidet and concealed flush toilet. Bedroom 6 - Large double or two single beds , vanity unit and side cabinets. Steps lead up to: En suite Bathroom - Bath with fitted hand shower, basin, bidet and toilet Both the first and second floors of the east wing are heated by radiators. OUTSIDE The villa is set in its own private five acre forest, is one kilometre away from the nearest road and is totally secluded. Not a sound can be heard. There is a private road leading to a sweeping drive through large double iron gates up to the house. There is an abundance of fig, apple, pear and hazelnut trees around a large private courtyard and swimming pool, with ample parking for 5/6 cars. There is a large double garage and a portico area housing a basketball net and boxing bag and gloves to keep fit! Guests have use of a barbeque. Outside the kitchen and dining room is a large patio with a 12 seater table and dining chairs, and a table umbrella for al fresco dining. This leads directly to the 13 x 8.5 m swimming pool with sun loungers and umbrellas provided. The front of the house is south facing and the pool gets the sun all day.
The pool is open from 1 May to the end of October.
